"Support Your Local Bookshop"
The new EP release by Dublin-based singer-songwriter Gar Cox, available as a download from iTunes and all other digital outlets from April 10.
The EP showcases four new songs that demonstrate the range of Gar's songwriting.
The lead track, "Hospitals and Airports",
is a tender song written during a spell in the A&E department of St. John's Hospital, Dublin. Based on Gar's experiences travelling in Europe,
"Kiss the Sky" is a humorous and unashamed celebration of gay identity.
The title track, which runs under two minutes, is a freewheeling acoustic-punk ode to the power of reading, while the EP's final track, "O What Is That Sound", is an atmospheric reading of a 1936 poem by W. H. Auden.
Sideways on planet Piano
Sideways on Planet Piano is the musical story of an ordinary single woman who parties, brings up her son, has various relationships, and struggles with huge problems - like what to do next. This 45 minute show, written and performed by Ruti Lachs, is by turns funny, moving, and challenging. The melodic elements draw on klezmer, folk, and blues styles.
